Viviane Namaste, the feminist scholar active in sexual health research and transsexual studies, from Montréal, Québec, will be giving two talks in Sydney in late October: a community based one on Mon Oct 20, 6:30-9pm at the Sydney Mechanics School of the Arts, 280 Pitt St, CITY and a more academic one on Wed Oct 22, 4-6pm, University of Sydney, on the place of the transgender question within Anglo-American feminist scholarship.
Namaste's work will attract anyone interested in community action research, trans and sex worker rights, but also people working at the intersections of language, culture, gender, class, ethnicity and sexuality studies.
